Raw materials are ground and refined in various processes in the Arnreiter Mill in Austria. For this, the company uses machines for steaming, flaking, crushing, grinding, extruding, roasting, cooling, drying and peeling. Grinding raw materials produces dust - this requires explosion-protected drive units by NORD.

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS provides a wide range of mechanical, electric and electronic drive technology in explosion-protected versions . Thus, the manufacturer from Northern Germany was able to supply many differentgeared motors and decentralised mechatronic systems, meeting the demand of the mill. The durable and low maintenance components drive the belt and bucket elevators, with which raw materials are transported from silos to the upper floors for processing. They are also used in various conveyor and distribution systems.
NORD provides both the geared motors as well as the frequency inverters – in mechatronic units and for installation in control cabinets – in explosion-protected versions. Every month, NORD produces more than 1,500 dust or gas explosion protected drive systems for use in Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
